Ganesh, I agree with you when you say "We note something in us only when we stand in front of a mirror".
The theory I believe is that we understand everything only by comparison. When the mental image of ourselves clashes with the real image we see in a mirror, we learn. Otherwise there's no need (or is it possibility?) for learning.
This should be the view every creator must be looking at.
